Our Accommodation
We currently offer over 150 almshouse properties across three central locations in Mansfield, including:
- One bed flats
- One and two bed bungalows
All our properties are self-contained and maintained to a high standard, offering a secure, comfortable accommodation with individual privacy, affording a sense of home. Under our Charity status, all our residents are considered beneficiaries, not tenants; meaning they receive housing as part of the “Almshouse Letter of Occupancy and Terms of Occupancy” and therefore do not have individual tenancy rights as those living elsewhere, such as local authority premises.
What We Offer

At Brunts Charity, we aim to offer more than just a place to live — we provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where older people can thrive.
Our almshouse accommodation is designed to promote independent living, with facilities and services tailored to meet the needs of residents over the age of 60 years (55 years with recognised disability) who are in need of financial support or are considered vulnerable.

- Emergency call systems – All properties are linked to a 24/7 online back-up service, which provides peace of mind in case of urgent support needs.
- On-site CCTV/Flood lit lighting - All our infrastructure is equipped with CCTV, and flood-lit, night-time lighting to provided added deterrence, assurance and overall safety to all our residents, visitors, emergency services and care professionals.
- Housekeeping – Support our essential Good Housekeeping (health and Safety) protocols by keeping and maintaining, clean, safe and sanitised shared environments.
- Repair & Maintenance – We contract professional contractors, to carry out essential works across sites and these support our emergency call-out procedures.
- Security – We work closely with our local Community Police, who visit our sites and offer safety awareness drop-in sessions.
- Health and Safety - We utilise the services of a local Health and Safety (H&S) Consultants that provide us support and advice on keeping our facilities, staff, residents and visitors safe and all our staff are trained in H&S, First Aid and Fire Safety.
Please note: Brunts Charity is not a care home, however, many residents receive additional “personal care packages” so they can live independently, and this external service is achieved via contacting Nottinghamshire County Council, Adult Social Care and Health Services, for individual assessment and advice.
